submitted by Jonathan A. - |Recommended: YesAwesome building, even better team — I have been living here for just about two weeks and even though it is an older building the Skye team does such a good job in maintaining and of keeping you honestly couldn’t even tell it’s as old as it is location and central and unbeatable. The neighborhood feel safe nothing to worry about just a couple of bums. Amenities in the building are awesome I work from home partially the gym is always clean and relatively empty for the most part has everything you could need.

My only issue has been some outages of amenities such as the laundry or elevators, but they seem to be quick about the addressing the issues as they arise.

submitted by Casey L. - |Recommended: YesFirst apartment in Seattle studio — I have lived in a high-rise, 450 sq ft studio for over 2 years, my first apartment since I moved to Seattle for work. The building is in a prime location, within 20 minute walk of Pike place market, the waterfront, Seattle center, Amazon, Facebook, Google SLU, etc. The building has always felt safe with an overnight concierge. The unit I stayed in was pretty good - carpet in the living area closet and hard laminate floor in the kitchen bath. The smaller dishwasher was perfect size for an individual living in a studio. The living space was a good size. There is a single large window, but only one part of it opens so the apartment was hard to ventilate during hot summer days. There was not much noise from other rooms. There was constant noise from the city when the window's open - a nearby fire station does lead to a lot of sirens. I didn't have an issue with it pre-covid, but it did start to get annoying after a lot of work-from-home. The management has always been helpful and professional anytime I have questions during business hours, and they have been quick to service maintenance requests generally within a day . The shared laundry room is a slight downside, especially since every once in a while there are a lot of machines out of service and it's hard to find an available washer or dryer. Similarly, sometimes an elevator or 2 goes out of service and often takes multiple weeks to fix maybe only due to Covid . The community amenities are great - the rooftop garden accessed from 3rd floor is very big and has plenty of space for lounging, covered fireplace TV area, public use grills, and off-leash dog area, etc. The rec room and gym are both good. There is also a 24-hour package room where you can pick up small medium packages using a locker code it is very convenient. I haven't driven a car during my time living here, so I can't speak to the garage parking situation. I do have a bike, and the bike storage room is safe and useful, although you have to walk your bike through the service hallway to get outside which is not always super convenient. You sign up for a reserved spot to hang your bike with a small monthly fee , and only the residents with reserved spots have access to the room. Lastly, there's a grocery convenience store accessible from inside the building and is open late, very convenient if you need something and don't want to go out. My experience living in Skye has been overwhelmingly positive. It was a great choice as a first-time renter moving cross-country.

The management staff here are amazing, she helped me finalize the apartment by answering all my questions and have been super accommodating with respect to our move-in. There is a positive vibe in the apartment, the garden on the 3rd floor transforms this place. I can the common areas are regularly cleaned and maintained like a 4-5 star hotel. They have trolley to carry heavy things to and from the apartment. I will definitely recommend Skye and find myself lucky to I found it.

It would be very hard to find another place which is so close to downtown, offers such spacious apartments, great and very helpful staff and is in such close proximity to a bunch of different grocery stores. It is easily possible to live a car-free life at this place.
